In this guide, I will remove the bottom cover of the Asus TUF Gaming F16 FX608 to explore its upgrade options for memory, SSD, and wireless network card. Additionally, I will access components such as the battery, cooling system, speakers, and motherboard.
This guide applies to the ASUS TUF Gaming F16 2025 FX608 and TUF Gaming A16 2025 FA608.
Remove the bottom cover
Use a screwdriver to remove the 11 screws securing the bottom cover. Please note that the two screws in the middle top and the one screw in the bottom right corner cannot be removed; simply loosen them. Insert a pick near the right hinge between the bottom cover and the palm rest. Since there are many clips on the bottom cover that secure it to the palm rest, slide the pick along the edge of the bottom cover until all clips are unlocked. The bottom cover will automatically detach from the laptop.
Note: Be careful during the process to avoid damaging internal components or the clips that secure the bottom cover.
Remove the battery
Before upgrading any components, disconnect the battery cable from the motherboard to avoid short-circuit damage to the laptop. Use a screwdriver to remove the four screws securing the battery, and then the battery can be removed. This laptop has a 90Wh battery and supports 100W PD fast charging.
To test battery life, in Asus Armoury Crate, set the screen brightness to 150 nits, select Silent mode for performance, set the GPU to integrated graphics mode, and play a local video at 1080p resolution, which yielded a battery life of 6 hours and 5 minutes.

Upgrade Memory
This laptop has two memory slots located under the heatsink and covered by silver shielding stickers. In my unit, only the upper slot is installed with a 16GB DDR5 5600MHz memory module. You can add another 16GB DDR5 5600MHz module to create a dual-channel memory configuration. According to Asus’s information, this laptop supports up to 64GB DDR5 5600MHz memory, meaning you can install two 32GB DDR5 5600MHz memory modules.
Upgrade SSD
This laptop has two 22 mm x 80 mm M.2 slots, with a Samsung 1TB SSD installed in the right slot. The other M.2 slot is located near the wireless network card on the left side of the device. If you install an SSD in this slot, it will cover the wireless network card.
Note: The pre-installed SSD supports PCIe 4.0 and NVMe. The second M.2 slot also supports PCIe 4.0 and NVMe.
Replace the CPU Fan
The cooling system of the Asus TUF Gaming F16 FX608 includes two fans, six heat pipes, and five heatsinks, with an additional heatsink dedicated to the GPU memory chips.
When replacing the fan, use compressed air and a brush to clean the dust from the heatsinks, and remove all thermal paste from the heatsinks with a cloth. Apply new thermal paste when reinstalling to achieve optimal cooling performance. When reassembling the cooling system, ensure all components are securely installed.
